This is an interesting one: Sign up for Sweety High – it’s a pretty cool, teen and tween social networking site for girls only, and it’s free. The site is COPPA compliant site, requires social security card verification by parents for all girls 13 and under, and if a child tries to sign up w/out parent, sweety asks for parental email address before allowing you to procced.
They have cool free contests – when I was there they had a contest to win a signed Justin Bieber CD, links to a Justin Beiber forum, itunes download, and his youtube videos, each post a user makes earns sweety points to be redeemed at the sweety store where you can buy virtual candy, they have a ‘be a star’ link where your daughter can explore her creative star side by posting a video to highlight her star quality, she can enter to be chosen for the monthly highlights reel, and you’re well on your way to being you own star. They also highlight opportunities to work in Hollywood, and the most talented stars from the highlights reel can become Sweety Celebrity’s and will be invited to appear on the Sweety High Productions, which include the TV show Sweety High.
Basically, they have free contests all the time, offer a creative outlet for girls, and it’s a great place to go to learn about what’s going on with the teen culture today.
