Joe’s Crab Shack. Wow, just typing those words makes me start to salivate…

If there is a Joe’s location within a twelve hour drive of your place, then my friend, it’s worth the trip. Seriously. And while you’re at it, you should bring your camera or camcorder, because the folks at Joe’s are having a contest! Their facebook page has all the details, but here’s the gist of it:

Eating crab legs is as much an art as it is a science. Everybody seems to have their own method, their own trick for breaking through that hard shell and extracting the oh-so-tasty meat inside. Get pictures or video of your own method, the more creative the better, and you could win some great prizes!

What kind of prizes you ask? Well there are weekly prizes consisting of gift cards, t-shirts and a grand prize of free crabs for a YEAR! Now that's a prize.

I knew a little girl once, maybe four years old. We had some crab legs, and she got hold of one, and when I looked over at her she’d nibbled an opening at each end of the leg joint with her teeth – and was then able to slurp the crab out like she was sipping on a bright red craggy straw. It was adorable!

Messy, but adorable and probably worth a gift card or more.
