Whether you drink coffee because you enjoy its bold, nutty and earthly flavor or to help stimulate the body or for its antioxidants, cavity fighting values, it's a ritual that is enjoyed daily and at anytime of the day. And with over 16 billion pounds of coffee beans harvested each year, I dare say that you are not alone in this passion.
Personally, I am a caffeine junkie; the flavor of coffee, the many ways to make coffee and the science of coffee. Espresso shots, coffee with cream, blended ice coffee are all good, depending on the mood. I've brewed coffee with the simplest of kitchen aid to the most automated of espresso machines and they were all worth the experience. And no matter how tired you are, if you drink enough of this stimulant, it will wake you up from the most unfinished of slumber. It's also a diuretic so be sure to drink more fluids to offset the caffeine effect.
Although I prefer to brew my own coffee, I do on occasion patronize the local Starbucks store. In fact, I'm already planning my next visit there to participate in their Starbucks VIA Ready Brew Taste Challenge. The challenge is to see if you can taste the difference between Colombia Starbucks VIA Ready Brew and Pike Place Roast. Basically, they’re trying to highlight that the new VIA Ready Brew instant coffee is just as rich and full bodied as their fresh-brewed version. As a participant, you will receive coupon for a complimentary tall brewed coffee as well as an offer for $1 off a Starbucks VIA Ready Brew purchase. This 4-day challenge starts on Oct 2 and ends on Oct 5.
