A while back, I had this list of ten tidbits of advice for horror writers pinned to my office wall. It was a handy little list, and I referred to it often – number five on the list was “if your story is going too slowly, throw in a bunch of zombies. And set them on fire.”
Now, I'd always taken that to mean that readers enjoy a story where the conflict takes them from a bad situation – zombies – to a much worse situation – zombies on fire. But there's something to be said for taking the literal approach, like the folks who film the Resident Evil movies do. Zombies, and lots of them.
No word yet on whether they'll be flaming zombies, but if you live in the Philadelphia area, you can find out for yourself a day ahead of the rest of the country! The charming gentlemen who work at Geekadelphia have twenty passes for two for a screening of the fourth movie in the hit series, Resident Evil: Afterlife, and they're giving them away for FREE! What's more, the screening is on Sept. 9, a day before the general release of the film!
All you have to do is comment on their website and share your favorite Resident Evil flim, and the reason why you loved it. Judging by their name, Geekadelphia, I'm gonna go out a limb, here, and say that you can get as geeky as you want and they'll just love you for it.
Want more incentive? These tickets are for a screening at the AMC Cherry Hill – and you'll be up to your eyeballs in IMAX Digital 3D! Come on, folks! 3D zombie mayhem on an IMAX screen? It's like pure geek candy.
