Campus Circle is giving away tickets to Eat, Pray, Love – a special advance screening Thursday, August 12th in Los Angeles. Entering the contest is free, but you will need a Campus Circle account to register to win. It’s an easy setup, though, so don’t let that stop you!
If you don't already know, the movie, Eat, Pray, Love, is based on the book by the same name. It’s a true story, autobiographical in nature, by Liz Gilbert. Played by Julia Roberts, the movie follows Liz through a tumultuous chapter in her life. There was a time when she had everything a modern woman is supposed to dream of having.
You know, the whole dream life – she had a husband, a house, and a career. She wrote, and Ms. Roberts portrays, that happiness isn’t always so simple or formulaic. Despite all of that, Liz writes that she felt lost, confused, and searching for what she really wanted in life.
After a divorce, she finds herself at a crossroads. She embarks on a journey that becomes a quest for wisdom. In her travels around the world, she discovers the joy of cuisine by eating in Italy; the power and majesty of prayer and faith in India, and surprisingly, true love when she visits Bali.
The movie promises to be one of the most talked-about (pardon the term) chick-flicks in years. For the ladies, the movie promises things you just don’t usually see in a ‘manfilm,’ like realistic, interesting characters, a plot, and yes – discussion about Liz Gilbert’s quest for self-discovery.
For the guys, the movie promises to tug on your girlfriend’s heartstrings and you’ll come off as a great boyfriend for taking her to see it. Even better, if you take her to see it early, before the general release on August 13th.
