New movie from Disney: a disadvantaged gang of teens in a dance competition face off against another team that clearly outclasses them! But the disadvantaged kids have heart, so they win!
Yes, it's the plot of every single Disney teen movie ever, only this time with dancing. And, it's apparently the third one in a series. It's also in 3-D. But, to be fair, the dancing does look pretty good. (You can see a trailer here: http://www.traileraddict.com/trailer/step-up-3d/trailer.) Sharni Vinson as Natalie, Rick Malambri as Luke, and Adam Sevani as Moose star as a group of friends and NYC street dancers who take on some of the best hip hop dancers in the world.
You can check out Step Up 3D on MySpace (MySpace still exists?) and RSVP to join in one of 20 promotional block parties, held in major cities all around the United States. These free parties will feature an early screening of the movie, plus a big party. With, one assumes, dancing.
Just head to the site, pick your location, and click through to RSVP your attendance, and come July 27th, you can show off your dance moves at a big summer block party, and watch a free movie!
