Crackle is like having a television network that you design yourself, living in your internet. You can watch original shows that can only be found on the Crackle website, alongside movies and television shows – and these aren’t the bargain-bin leftover shows, either. Quick and the Dead, Dr. Strangelove, and Jerry Maguire all caught my eye in the film page, and the television show collection included Charlie’s Angels, the new Spider-Man animated series, and Married With Children!

Okay, there is a fair amount of cheese to be found, if that’s what you’re looking for. Remember the old Votlron cartoons? They’re here. Three Stooges, and a whole heap o’ Godzilla movies.

The whole site is free – no membership required, or even a sign-in. Well… for the more mature content, you either need to set up a sign-in or verify your age before every clip, but that’s only sensible. There are kids on the internet, after all.

The only drawback I found was that ever clip features advertisements, and that wasn’t so bad. The clips are spread out, so your show isn’t being interrupted every five minutes. They’re there, but they’re not obnoxious about it. More, they’re short. 30 seconds and you’re back watching your show.
