You’ve seen the Redboxes, right? Come on, they’re everywhere! McDonald’s restaurants have them out front, 7-11 convenience stores, gas stations, grocery stores… I even saw one outside a Hollywood Video store in a strip mall once, and that irony cuts deep as the whole Hollywood Video chain recently went bankrupt – citing Redbox as one of the competitors that drove them out of business.
Well, if you are a regular Redbox customer, you’re in for a reward. Don’t get too excited, though, because the reward is the same as the thank-you prize they’re giving out to new Redbox customers – that sounds awful, and it’s not. Allow me to rephrase:
Anyone and everyone can get a free rental at any Redbox on June 21st. Ta-da!
Here’s how it works: Go to the redbox Facebook page, and ‘like’ them. The link is up there, top of the article. Once that’s done, under the Fan Freebie tab, you’ll see a layout promoting the free rental offer. Allow the application to interact with your Facebook profile, and you’ll get a seven-digit code that, on June 21st and only on June 21st, will get you that free rental!
It’s only a one day rental, but you can return the movie at any redbox, not just the one you borrowed it from! Handy, that, because as I pointed out, they’re everywhere!
