Amazon.com is offering “Alice's Theme”, from Tim Burton's new movie, Alice in Wonderland, as a free download.
“Alice's Theme” was written by long-time Burton composer, Danny Elfman. Elfman is famous, having done the scores for over a hundred movies. He's best known for classic Burton movies like A Nightmare Before Christmas and its sequel, Corpse bride, as well as Edward Scissorhands and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Elfman also wrote the well-known Simpsons cartoon theme, and has written the scores for films like Hellboy II: The Golden Army, the first two Spiderman movies, Darkman, and Fast times at ridgemont High, among many others. He's written the musical scores for all but two of Tim Burton's films.
Alice in Wonderland is Danny Elfman's latest musical effort, and, having just seen the movie, I have to say, the score is brilliant. Getting one of the songs from this movie for free is a fantastic deal, and Alice's Theme is one of the best songs on the soundtrack. It embodies the dark, dramatic, whimsical style of Elfman's greatest works.
This song is available in MP3 format, which works with everything, so no worries there. Definitely add this song to your collection.
