Each and every week the people at iTunes find a track from an artist or a band that they themselves have been groovin’ to, and put it up on the iTunes store for FREE as their Single of the Week. I found a list of some of the songs that have been featured in the past, and I have to say, the iTunes gang have a pretty wide and varied taste in music. The Singles of the Weeks have featured everything from punk to country to blues, and a lot of smaller, lesser known bands that defy easy classification.

Think about this – if you got every free Single every week for a year, you’d have 52 songs, all recent releases and talented artists, and a music collection that covered a little bit of everything. A value of oh, around sixty dollars, give or take, and you’d have it for FREE!

This week the Single is from The Gaslight Anthem, with lead singer Brian Fallon who, alas, is no relation to Nathan Fallon of Firefly fame, but does belt it out in classic style. He’s compared to Jon Bon Jovi and Bruce Springsteen, and after listening to the free song, I can see why. Check it out, and come back every week to see what’s up for grabs!
