Southern Methodist University is kicking off their first home football game of the season on September 11th, the ninth anniversary of the terrorist attacks against the Pentagon and the World Trade Center. And as a tribute to their sacrifices, SMU will be giving free tickets to the game to all military personnel to thank them for their service in the two wars that followed in the aftermath of the attacks, as well as to all first responders. That is to say, to all fire, police, and emergency medical personnel, in honor of the heroic rescue workers who perished in the tower collapse.

Plus, to mark this solemn anniversary, SMU is asking all fans coming to the home game to wear the colors of the American flag – also the colors of the SMU Mustangs – to show their support for this great nation of ours and this great football team. The whole game will have a patriotic theme, with the Mustang band treating spectators to a special musical tribute to the military.

So if you're a Texas football fan, this freebie ticket offer is simply a great way to start the new college football season. The game starts at seven o’clock Saturday evening, and you can get your tickets from SMUMustangs.com or by calling their ticket line.
